Sulakshana jis voice carried the fragrance of Chhattisgarhs soil, says the Chief Minister
Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of renowned Indian film actress and melodious playback singer Sulakshana Pandit, fondly remembered as the daughter of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister said that her passing marks an irreparable loss to the Indian music fraternity.
Chief Minister Sai said that Sulakshana jis artistic journey was deeply rooted in the cultural soil of Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, where music is not merely a tradition but a way of life. She was born at the Asharfi Devi Womens Hospital in the old locality of Ramgudi Para, Raigarh, and received her early education at the Government Girls School on Palace Road.
The Chief Minister noted that Sulakshanas father, Shri Pratap Narayan Pandit, was a distinguished tabla player in the royal court of Raja Chakradhar Singh. For their family, music was not just an art form - it was a sacred legacy. Sulakshana ji embodied that legacy through her soulful voice, which resonated across the nation and beyond.
Chief Minister Sai remarked that Sulakshana jis voice reflected simplicity, emotion, and the scent of Chhattisgarhs earth. Through her music and acting, she not only enriched Indian cinema but also gave Chhattisgarhs cultural heritage a national recognition.
